Why your ankle hurts
The ankle carries your whole body weight and adapts to the ground with every step. What I see most often:
- an ankle sprain – most often from landing on the outer edge of the foot,
- repeated sprains – the ankle doesn’t ‘hold’ because stability training was missing after the first injury,
- an overloaded Achilles tendon and calves – typical in runners after increasing training or changing shoes,
- a stiff ankle after an injury, which then overloads the knee and hip.
How I work
- Initial assessment – we talk about where and when it hurts, what makes it worse and how you move during the day.
- Diagnosis – by looking, movement and touch.
- Manual therapy – manual release of muscle chains in their wider context.
- Targeted exercises – targeted exercise for strength and long-term relief.
