Elbow pain

Why your elbow hurts

The muscles that move your wrist and fingers attach on the outer and inner side of the elbow. When you overload them repeatedly, the tendon at the attachment gets irritated. What I see most often:

  • tennis elbow – pain on the outer side, typically from using a mouse, screwdrivers, carrying bags or tennis,
  • golfer’s elbow – pain on the inner side, common in climbers, in the gym or with hand tools,
  • a stiff, overloaded forearm that hurts when you grip.

How I work

  1. Initial assessment – we talk about where and when it hurts, what makes it worse and how you move during the day.
  2. Diagnosis – by looking, movement and touch.
  3. Manual therapy – manual release of muscle chains in their wider context.
  4. Targeted exercises – targeted exercise for strength and long-term relief.
